Dr. Juan Luis Castro Córdoba is a highly experienced psychiatrist in child and adolescent psychiatry. He holds an M.D. from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Colombia and a Master's in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Castro completed his general psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in child psychiatry at Yale University, where he also served as Chief Resident. His clinical experience spans prestigious institutions like the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital, where he held various leadership roles, including Medical Director of Child Adolescent Services and Director of Telemedicine programs.

 

Dr. Castro's professional career is marked by his commitment to advancing mental health services, particularly through the innovative use of telemedicine. His work has been recognized internationally, with presentations at major conferences and contributions to peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Castro has also been actively involved in education, serving as an Associate Professor and leading various psychiatry programs. His leadership extends to his role as a former Senator of the Republic of Colombia, where he focused on healthcare reform and quality care measures.
